Job Title: Warehouse Floor Leader

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Contract

Salary: £23,000 – £25,000 per year

Location: Silveroaks Farm, Waldron, TN21 0RS

Expected Start Date: ASAP

The Warehouse Floor Leader is responsible for supporting the Operations Manager to enhance and grow the packing department’s culture, work output and efficiency.

To assist with the smooth running of daily operations and support the promotion of Health & Safety culture and good working practices.

Essential Functions/Competencies:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the Packing Floor and ensuring all Team members and materials are where they should be for the most effective flow of work and assessing, with a real-time, proactive approach, the changing needs and priorities of the Packing Team as well as the wider business
  • Preparing a plan for work-flow of the Packing Team for each work day in consultation with other Leaders in the Team
  • Liaising with the Operations Manager and other Leaders with regards to staff allocation on daily/weekly or longer term basis
  • Ensuring that all facets of the Packing room are being catered for including staffing for; the Pack Savon, Distributor Team, Projects Team, Domestic Orders Team, stock maintenance, any departmental cover etc
  • Being autonomous when answering questions from the Team with regards to the tasks they are carrying out
  • Collating the data for effective stock control and reporting that to Operations Manager
  • Ensuring that the team are meeting appropriate targets and preparing the goods to the appropriate Gold Standard
  • Liaising with the Operations Manager, Logistics Manager and Warehouse Leader to ensure componentry and stock is available
  • Liaising with other departments including Logistics Manager with regards to stock availability and production schedules
  • Familiarising yourself with key clients and their requirements
  • Training and onboarding new members of the Team, allocating a buddy and supervising their Onboarding Agenda in conjunction with Operations Manager and HR Manager
  • Assisting all teams in ensuring a healthy attitude and culture to the work tasks, processes, and procedures
  • Working with the Health and Safety Manager to continue to develop safe practice and ensuring the Packing Team are supporting the Health and Safety culture
  • Keeping warehouses stocked and tidy, including moving stock around the site with trolleys and pallet trucks where required
  • Assisting in the creation, building and maintaining manuals where relevant
  • Wrapping soap and packaging other products pertaining to both Christina May Brands & contract manufacturing clients
  • Picking and packing orders for domestic and online customers
  • Assisting on the various automated production & packing lines when required, including in other departments
  • Preparing Delivery Notes/Packing Lists
  • Preparing Commercial invoices
  • Preparing Dangerous Goods Notes
  • Checking, amending and finalising all documentation ready for goods to dispatch from the warehouse
  • Liaising with freight forwarders to ensure they have all documentation and relevant instructions to affect a collection
  • Ensuring the Working environment is tidy and compliant with regulations

Job Requirements/Education and Experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer literacy (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook programmes)
  • Valid driving license
  • Positive, motivated and enthusiastic approach
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team
  • First Aid Certificate (advantage)
  • Counter Balance Licence (advantage)
